Happy Birthday!

Today is my son, Eric's, 7th birthday! I cant believe how old he is...Last week we celebrated by going to Lego Land, which was deeeeliteful. Today he will enjoy a homemade cake, presents, and a trip to the Macaroni Grill for dinner, (his choice.) In honor of my baby growing up, I decided to write a few things that I love about my son and his accomplishments thus far in his journey thru life...

1.) He is the best little artist ever! He loves to draw and spends most of his time doing so...and he's really really good.

2.) He can do amazing headstands that last forever

3.) He has a great singing voice, and come september he will be in the Orange County Mormon Choir.

4.) He is teaching himself how to swim and doing a great a job

5.) He can bat left and right handed, as well as pitch...He doesnt need a tee

6.) He reads better then most adult males

7.) He is very affectionate and loving..I cant leave without him chasing me down to give several kisses, and blow kisses as i drive off...

8.) He speaks with a terrible lisp since he is missing his front teeth...I dont think they will ever grow in. Its been over 4 months since he lost them.

9.) He wants to be a bus boy at Rubys when he is a teenager, cuz they wear paper hats and bowties...

10.) He could wear church suits all day everyday...HE LOVES THEM. He also told me he wants to go to France on his mission.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY! MOMMY LOVES YOU MORE THEN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.....*MUAH!

A lesson that stood out...

Today in church, a lesson was taught by a dear woman who inspired me. I guess I should give a little background as to why I felt inspired..I have had my share of trials in the past 10 years, enough to make a person wince. Ive never said "why me Lord"..but I have asked "when will it be enough"...My latest bought of depression stems from the fact that at only age 30, ive now been divorced twice, have three children, a very scarred and horrifying body thanks to giving life for these men I thought would love me forever..Im no longer any mans ideal as a future spouse. Who would want me? Its been somethine ive cried over a lot lately.

During todays lesson this sweet woman pulled out some comic pictures that told a story. It showed a bunch of normal people carrying crosses, to signify everyones own personal burdens they have to carry. Then it shows one of those men in the bunch who is struggling with his cross. So he stops, takes out a saw, and begins to lighten his load so it isnt so hard to bear. He is whistling a happy tune, thinking he is pretty clever, skipping along with his tinier cross while everyone else struggles onward. They dont know why they have to carry the full weight of their crosses, but they do so in obedience. Then it showed them coming to a large deep ravine down the road..How are they to get over it?..Lay down the cross, and use it as a bridge to get over this obstacle. Everyone did so with ease, and came out on the otherside, able to move forward. This little guy who chose to not bear his burdens like the others, came up short, and was not able to lay his cross over the ravine to move forward with the others. We dont know why we are suppose to endure the things we do..It may seem unfair..The Lord sees the bigger picture and knows the importance, and by doing so anyway, we will have the tool needed to overcome bigger obstacles with ease.

This was sort of a profound lesson for me, and tho ive heard them time and again, it always helps to have visuals and to hear it from a different perspective to reaffirm my testimony. I often find myself hiding from my trials by emersing myself into things (like the computer) as a way to not have to deal with what goes on around me. I know I need to just pray for strength and carry head on. I know there are lessons to be learned from everything Ive gone thru in my life, that may not make sense now, but will later...like when I need that cross to build a bridge across a ravine.

The 4th of July

Happy independence weekend! I hope everyone found their holiday full of bbq's, fireworks, and trying not to fall off rooftops..Mine was awesome! My mom and I walked to Main street about a mile or so, with the kids in strollers to watch the Parade. It was so nice! We saw tons of marching bands, horses, and the grooviest vintage cars toting city officials. We even managed a few celebs in there..TK and Rachel the last Amazing Race winners..The cast of iCarly (from Nickelodean)..Tito Ortiz from UFC..and I was hootin for the real Ruby sitting pretty (from the awesome Rubys Diner.) I even got to see two of my favorite things..Snoopy sitting on the back of a Camaro. *sigh*..Of course the people who stole the show, were the men and women in the armed forces, as well as a few jeeps full of Pearl Harbor survivors. It was very patriotic as everyone stood and clapped loudly for them as they rode by. Very cool. Later on we walked back home, mom and Eric got into a fight in the middle of Albertsons (which I had to capture with pictures.) We had a few friends over for hamburgers (from the oven, after mom almost caught our house onfire with a grease fire on the grill..) and icecream. Fireworks were heard for me, but not seen, as I spent the night online with my friend Charlie while the kids passed out. I hope everyone had a good time!
