Mommy and me date with Eric

Yesterday Eric wanted to go Putt Putt golfing at Boomers, so we packed up and headed off! It was a lot of fun. I got spanked by my own kid (although I did get a hole in one on once.) He is such a cutie, and I love watching him grow up into a sweet young gentleman. We had a blast. Afterward we went to the store and bought ice cream. Here are a few pics to share with you.

5 Love Languages

So a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to take a test, for fun, based on a book he had read. Its based on how you personally need to be shown love, and to also see how others need to be shown love..I said sure, why not. I never really thought about it before, but I suppose it makes sense that people need to understand that sometimes certain acts arent enough to make a relationship work. Everyone is different and need affirmation in different ways. It was sort of an eye opener to me to see what the test said about me. I suppose now I understand why I wasnt happy in my past relationships and why they werent happy with me. We didnt know what each other needed (and frankly I didnt know I needed this, either. hehe.) Here is how I scored:

I got 18 E's- PHYSICAL INTIMACY
17 D's- QUALITY TIME
16 C's- NEEDING GIFTS
14 A's- ACTS OF SERVICE
10 B's- WORDS OF AFFIRMATION

I am sorta blown away by this new epiphony. I always new I was very physical and needed that reciprocation, but Ive never thought that I needed gifts, or that words of affirmation would be last. Its sort of an eye opener. I guess this means I cant have a lazy husband..I need proof, not just hearing it. hehe. I would strongly encourage all couples to take this test to better your relationship. Everybody puts priority into something different. Its not selfish, its just the way they are, and it needs to be discovered in order for things to blossom. I have the test. I can email it to anybody who wants it. :0P

Man, I love summer!!

Today I went across the street from my condo to get breakfast in the most awesome hawaiian style cafe..THE BREADCRUMB OHANA CAFE. They have the biggest and best breakfasts EVER. Then I went to the pool TWICE with my kids..We are tan. Now my son and I are getting ready for our "date" together, where we will go to town (it being Tuesday) to schmooze with the tourists while they close off Mainstreet and bring out all the bands. We might hit the pier..We might play in the sand..whatever. I knwo we are going to BJ's to get a Pizookie. I LOVE SUMMER!!

New haircut..again

So I went to get a new haircut and wanted my hair shagged out and a little wild..what I got was something short. Its still very cute, but not what I expected..Its taking me some time trying to figure out how to style it like she had it. I can never redo what she shows me. LOL. Im hair-tarded. Also ive gotten brave enough to wear horizontal stripes...and can officially wear clothes in the junior miss deparment! woot! Im almost a size 12..hopefully another month.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

I havent done a thankful thursday in a bit..so side tracked lately! I actually remembered today. Yay me! Lots has happened this week. I shopped in the junior miss section of Target for the first time in YEARS. I cant even tell you how that makes me feel. I also got my hair chopped off. I didnt intend for it to be, i just wanted it razor cut so i could punk shag it out and make it flip..I got a very short cut instead. My stylist Shelley is very good tho, so it looks very cute. Just not what I expected. It will feel good this summer to have short hair, im sure. My punkin leaves me tomorrow for the entire summer to be with her dad. Im both sad and grateful for the rest. I will feel all alone in that bed without her kicking me at night. *sniffle*..I know she will have a great time up there. Ive also made some friends being on LDS Mingles, and have been having a ball chatting with them. Its really helped me relieve my social stress. After all this, I got a card from my best gal, Sara, in the mail. Life is good! More things im thankful for....

Taking walks for smaller pants sizes
A working vehicle
helpful family members
Having my insurance in order (next focus, car registration..woot..)

mommy and me dates..(its erins turn tonight!)
sparkly things..
the swimming pool and my new floatie
frozen yogart and scrabble
bean burritos and green salsa verde
Those gorgeous purple trees that I get to walk under every day

The Gypsy Chronicles...

I finished reading THE GYPSY CHRONICLES by Alison Mackie, and I have to say how much I loved it. Its been described as a bedtime story for adults..It truly is. Its a book based on the gypsies of Ronda, Spain, and the magic of love in their lives. Its very romantic and very rich with messages of love and longing to be loved. I must warn that its somewhat sexual..its graphic for only split seconds, but the descriptions are like poetry. I found myself by the end of the book, believing in love at first site, the magic of souls meeting, and the intensity you feel upon meeting the love of your life and knowing with a surety from the moment you touch. Most of these stories of true love happened within a day, and ended the day in marriage. The amount of passion by these people is enough to make completely jealous of what they have. A few quotes from this book that I loved are:

"No man shows his soul to another man..he shows it only to a woman."

"I was the love letter that found myself wrapped in the envelope of his embrace.."

"Lovers dont finally meet somewhere, Theyre in each other all along.."

"Dont surrender your loneliness so quickly. Let it cut more deep. Let it ferment and season you, as few human or divine ingredients can.."
