Belated Birthday Wishes!

I feel like a horrible parent..and because my daughter is the middle child, she will probably never forgive me for forgetting to put my birthday wishes and thoughts about my very special girl. Even tho her birthday was the end of February, I still need to rectify my mistake. So...HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY ERIN ROSE! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!! My little girl is getting so tall and really thinning out. She is becoming quite a beauty! That red hair makes her stand out all the more alongside her radiant personality. Ive never seen a more caring child. She truly has Christ-like love for all mankind, and you cant help but be swept away with her huge smile. Here are 6 things about my darling girl.

1.) She loves the computer!!! I cant get her to stop talking about it.

2.) She says to everyone "I love you, youre my best friend!"

3.) She has no coordination, but she tries her hardest to dance the minute music is on. She cant help herself...she wants to get down.

4.) She loves numbers! She will sit with a book in her lap, not to read, but to count each page..

5.) She will only take two bites at every meal then say she is fuuuuuull. Only to come back every 20 minutes saying she is starving.

6.) She has the most beautiful eyelashes and blue eyes...and red hair! Im so lucky to call her my own.

~Seeing the light~

Its April...An entire year has gone by since the tragedy that took over my life. In the past year I have been apart of the worst heart-ache, and i'm proud to say that i've started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The depression is almost completely gone, i've made some wonderful friends since moving down to California, my children are extremely happy and settled, my finances are starting to recover, AND IM 3 MONTHS AWAY FROM GRADUATING COLLEGE! This has been a real growing experience for me. I'm focused. I'm driven. I'm passionate about what I do. I'm also grateful for those who call on me to do their body work for them. Life is starting to make sense again. :0)

The Cadaver Lab

Yesterday I had one of the most brilliantly educational days of my life! My class took a field trip to a nearby college so we could see Plastination, and what muscles looked like layer upon layer, using cadavers. I never thought in a million years I would be so happy to throw on some gloves and pull apart nerves, veins, tendons, ligaments, and muscles from the fascia of a corpse. It was AMAZING. The teachers in charge were very impressed with how many muscles we were familiar with, and could name at the drop of a hat just by looking at the bodies. I think we even shocked ourselves. To see how well each muscle laid neatly on top of the other and their various grains was awe inspiring. It was a true testimony to me that we are not mistakes on this earth and someone had to create us to be this perfect. I wont post all of my pictures of the plastination lab, even though they are AWESOME, because I know some people have week constitutions. I will, however, post pics of me and my very excited friends..haha. If you have the chance to learn about the human body, and take a tour of a Cadaver Lab, I highly recommend it..and thank the people who donated their bodies for our learning experience. Also if you have the chance to visit BODY WORKS at a nearby learning center or museum, (there is one going on in San Diego right now until October,) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING IT. You will be blown away.

Family Zoo Day!

My mother bought us a zoo membership to the Santa Ana zoo. Its a tiny zoo not far from Huntington (slightly smaller than Point Defiance in Tacoma,) but it provided my kids with so much entertainment that we couldnt resist. What a fun way to spend the day! Eric and Erin got to ride on an elephant for the first time with their cousins. It was really a fun day for all! I cant wait until Skylar comes home so we can take her as well.

Sadness.....

Yesterday a sign was placed above my favorite bookstore "The Bookman Too." It read Liquidation Sale..Going out of Business. I cant express how sad I am about this. I spent so much time in this bookstore, last year when I first moved here. I read 13 novels. I could browse their shelves all day, given the chance. I never went in with a specific book in mind, but always came out with something great. I never picked the books, the books picked me. With all the internet access and this horrid economy; it was just too much for this little bookstore to compete with. I went and bought my last book yesterday for $5. Its called The Third Witch, and I cant wait to start it. Im deeply put-off by this turn of events, and felt I needed to say how much I will miss The Bookman Too.

~Massage Therapy School~

I'm more than halfway done with my schooling! I cant believe its been almost 7 months since I started. I was so scared to get back to college for something so physically and mentally demanding, but it has completely changed my life. I am so happy with this career field. I am the only one in my class, so far, who has been brave enough to volunteer in the Spa clinic, run by students in higher classes. I have 3 hours logged in so far...and feel totally confident. I have regular customers outside of class, who come to me for Deep Tissue. Getting through my Anatomy, Physiology, and Kinesiology classes have been really difficult..but I still maintain excellent grades (A-B+ average..) Ive learned so much and cant wait to start on my degree program so that I can become a full Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Care Practitioner. Starting in September I will also be a fully licensed Prenatal Massage Therapist. I feel like life has steered me down this course because everything is falling into place and opportunities open up to me all the time. I'm very lucky. This isn't an easy career. It takes a great amount of dedication to the craft..Following years of extended education. I cant wait to continue on this amazing journey and hope that I become very successful. If you're considering this line of work, you wont regret it. Besides, what other college offers you a great massage every night? Ok Im done rambling now...Go get a massage today! Your body will thank you!!
